If so, we’ve a fantastic opportunity within our Construction business for a highly organised and competent Design Manager to join our Northeast and Cumbria area division working on the £5.1 billion Defence Estates Optimisation Programme (DEOP) starting with Marne Barracks in Catterick.

About the role:

Working as part of a wider team you will provide a professional, comprehensive, and sustainable design service for our customers and key partners/suppliers, assisting with the coordination of the overall design process.

You will ensure that the design fully accords with the defined specifications as detailed within the work package control document or subcontract documents as appropriate, ensuring compliance with the DIO design sign off procedures.

You will drive innovation and ensure that we Learn from Experience (LfE) to realise continuous improvement benefits to the project and wider programme.

Ideally you will:

  • Hold a HND/HNC/degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Hold membership to a relevant professional institute i.e. CIOB.
  • Have experience of working in both pre-construction and construction.
  • Be experienced in the Defence sector.
  • Have good management skills, able to motivate self and colleagues to achieve high standards of compliance.
  • Have good operational planning and time management skills, able to manage projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality.
  • Be able to present to multiple stakeholders key information and obtain agreement
  • Understand and be able to work within different NEC forms of contract
  • Have sound knowledge of construction practices and standards.
  • Be familiar with managing the planning process
  • Have experience of working on different CDE’s such as Viewpoint
  • Hold security clearance
