Morgan Sindall are constantly looking to challenge the status quo and seek continuous improvement to make our business and our industry more effective when dealing with Construction & Demolition Waste. So we have opened up a great new opportunity to work in our North West region as an R&D Analyst.
You will play a key role in our EU-wide R&D project supporting our Supply Chain Sustainability Manager and Digital Construction Manager along with many of our partners within Universities, consultants and construction / infrastructure organisations throughout the UK and Europe.
The scope of this R&D project is varied and you will be exposed to and involved in aspects of Digital Construction, Information Management as well as assisting in the development of new and novel tools and processes that will provide better insight into how and why waste is created at every stage of a project. You will take this learning forward with our team and other partners to create solutions to help designers avoid creating waste, enable construction and demolition contractors and waste processors to better manage waste and at the end-of-life maximise the value of waste.
You will either need some technical knowledge gained from an environmental / sustainability background. This knowledge can be from a recent MSc or PhD route or from recent industry experience.
Alternatively, you will be a recent graduate with some early career experience and a keen interest in environmental and sustainability issues within the industry.
The following attributes are desirable:
Gather / Collate / analyse and interpret data from a variety of industry sources throughout UK and EU, have the ability to present complex data to technical and non-technical audiences, excellent MS office skills and a sound understanding of R&D principles.
We are primarily looking for someone who relishes the challenge of this unique opportunity, who gets excited about data and creating solutions to problems. We are looking to make our industry more efficient and you will be part of something novel to drive the way we deal with waste for generations across the UK, Europe and beyond!
You will need to be able to work as part of a small internal team but comfortable working under your own initiative. There will be some travelling within the North West and possibly beyond within the UK.
About the North West team:
The North West Team are currently involved in a number of high profile projects within the Greater Manchester and Merseyside regions.
Recently completed schemes include the Arts and Humanities Building for MMU, the new Science and Engineering Building for the University of Salford, the Spine for Liverpool City Council and the new Student Campus at Copperas Hill for Liverpool John Moores University. Live schemes include Wirral Growth Company, Salford Central C1 and Islington Phase 1 and 4 in Manchester, North Manchester General Hospital, Gorton Community Hub, Hammerstone Road Deport, the new Robotics centre for the University of Salford and the House of Sport.
We work primarily in the Education, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure and Health sectors. Our key clients include MUSE, Liverpool City Council, Manchester Council.
