Our approach to R&D and Innovation
Great organisations listen and challenge the status quo. Our culture of innovation and collaboration drives us to constantly challenge the status quo, to deliver better results for our customers and the communities in which we work.
We want to make it easy for you to bring your great ideas and potential solutions to the key challenges faced by our industry – The GiG (The Great Ideas Generator) is the platform that enables you to do so.
Here are the answers to some questions you might have about bringing your great idea to Morgan Sindall Construction. If this does not answer your query, or you wish to discuss the potential for bringing your idea in high-level terms before submitting it via The GiG, please email the team.
What information do I need to submit to have my idea considered?
Ideally, we need a clear indication of your proposal, including how it will solve the challenge to which it is responding, but at this stage high-level information is fine. Attach as many supporting documents to your submission as you think is necessary to give us a basic understanding of your proposal.
It is very important that you do not share anything which contains confidential information, trade secrets, proprietary information, has any intellectual property restrictions or similar, and please do not mark any documents as confidential etc. These will not be reviewed and the submission may be declined in its entirety.
Rest assured that Morgan Sindall Construction will act with integrity and sensitivity around any ideas submitted but we ask you not to submit such documents to avoid any potential difficulties associated with the same.
What happens when my idea is submitted?
Each submission is reviewed by a GiG team member who will determine whether the idea is of interest to Morgan Sindall. If it appears to be of interest, we will allocate it to the appropriate person/ team within Morgan Sindall and we may be in touch with you to discuss the idea further.
How long will it take to receive a response?
We are committed to reaching a decision as quickly as possible though it is not possible to say how long it will take to initially review your submission.
Why might my submission not be explored further?
There are many reasons why we might decide not to take an idea forward, including because we are already aware of the issue and/ or working on a solution to it, the submission is not relevant to our business, the idea would require too much investment in time/ money, we are concerned that the submission contains confidential or proprietary information which may belong to others, etc. Whilst we will endeavour to give feedback if requested, this may not always be possible.
If my submission is taken forward, will I be required to enter into any legal agreements?
This is unlikely as for the initial high-level review we will only consider information that does not contain any confidential information, trade secrets, proprietary information, has any intellectual property restrictions or similar. If after our initial review of a submission it seems to us that the issue merits further investigation then we will contact you to discuss how to proceed and to agree on any agreements which both parties might consider are necessary or useful.
I am required to submit some personal data, what happens to this?
We will only use personal data to communicate with you about your submission. It is not used for any other purpose, nor is it shared with any third parties unless you have expressly indicated your agreement for us to do so. A copy of our privacy notice can be found here.
