EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING & SKILLS:

🏫 Provided work experience to 30 Greenwich residents to date

👩‍🏫 Using the Knowledge Quad, we have delivered two rounds of CSCS card training, where ten Greenwich residents successfully obtained their CSCS card

🏢 The Knowledge Quad was used by LSEC for Quantity Surveying lessons until Friday 15th March.

🏢 On Monday 18th March, a 14-week accredited construction programme started for Greenwich NEETs using the Knowledge Quad and the vacant flats to carry out practical work experience. 11 young people (NEETs) completed the programme in June

🏢 A second round of a 14-week study programme commenced on 16th September 2024 and 11 NEETs are taking part

🏢 From Thursday 28th November 2024, Shooters Hill College started delivering Multi Skills Level 2 courses to 16 students using the Knowledge Quad and void flats. The college is using the quad and flats every Thursday and Friday until the 13th of December 2024.

Wider community engagement

  • This month, we attended the quarterly Apprenticeship Steering Group, hosted by the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Various contractors working in the borough, colleges and training agencies, came together to explore ways to support one another and create opportunities for collaboration.
  • In November, Birch Floor Screeding supported the young people (NEETs) on the 14-week accredited construction study programme by delivering a Screeding workshop. 10 learners got the opportunity to obtain a real insight into Screeding and as a result some learners now want to work in this trade.
  • This month, Birch delivered a site tour to the young people (NEETs) on the 14-week accredited construction study programme. The guided tour was to provide learners with understand the work the Screeding team have carried out to date.
  • We invited the Royal Borough of Greenwich GLLaB to meet the young people on the 14-week accredited construction study programme. The purpose of the visit was for GLLaB to register the young people and share vacancies available in the borough via other contractors.
  • This month, we delivered a Site Talk and Tour to 16 students from Shooters Hill College, studying Multi Skills Level 2.
  • Starting Thursday 28th November 2024, Shooters Hill College started using the void flats on site compound and the Knowledge Quad to deliver their Level 2 Multi Skills lessons on a Thursday and Friday. The lessons will continue until Friday 13th December 2024.
