A Snapshot of the Wider community engagement
- This month, we invited the Lighthouse Club to deliver a talk to the entire workforce about health and well-being. The speakers shared lived experience of their own personal mental health struggled and how the Lighthouse Club supported them. The speakers stayed back to talk to individuals after, for 121 conversations.
- Level 2 Multi Skills learners, were taught how to repair existing brickwork by removing and replacing bricks. Using the bricked walls on the void flats on site compound, students gained new skills in how to safely remove bricks. We provided materials to support students to carry out the practical work.
- This month, we met with CiTB to discuss Construction Career Information Advice Guidance (CCIAG) events. Two separate teams from CiTB will hold session in April from our Knowledge Quad, where CiTB will share information on support, services, courses and products available to the Supply Chain and their workforce.
- We have invited SR Partnership who offer and deliver a range of construction courses to the construction workers. SR Partnership will visit our site to discuss upskilling opportunities available to them.This event is being organised as part of our CCIAG commitment.
- We partnered up with the Royal Borough of Greenwich to deliver CSCS card training to NEET young Greenwich residents. A two-day training course was held in our Knowledge Quad on the 18th and 19th of February.
- A second round of CSCS card training will be delivered to NEET young Greenwich residents in March.The training is being delivered by EET Group.
- We had a meeting with the Institute of Civil Engineers this month, who are keen to visit the Woolwich Leisure Centre site in April. We have agreed to deliver a site talk and tour to 15 Civil Engineer students.
- This month we met Unheard Voice a charity that works closely with marginalised groups. Unheard Voice has partnered up Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation to deliver workshops as part of Unheard Voiceβ Places Literacy Project. We have agreed to sponsor a workshop during Stephen Lawrenceβs remembrance month (April) to young people in Greenwich. The workshop will be themed around built environment and understanding the language of construction. The workshop will be held in our Knowledge Quad and we will incorporate a site visit.
