πŸ‘©β€πŸ« Using the Knowledge Quad we have delivered two rounds of CSCS card training, ten Greenwich residents have gained a CSCS card

🏒 The Knowledge Quad is used by LSEC to hold Quantity Surveying lessons for their HND students since January 2024

Wider community engagement:

  • In February, LSEC continued using the Knowledge Quad on a Friday to deliver the Quantity Surveying lessons for their HND students.
  • The Woolwich Leisure Centre team met with Faulkner Brown Architects to discuss the content of the art workshops that we are delivering at Heronsgate and Foxfield Primary Schools in March.
  • The team hosted a site visit to the ten LSEC students studying HND Quantity Surveying, as part of their lesson which is held in the Knowledge Quad. The visit was well received, and students had lots of questions for the Senior Project Manager, Mike Perera.
  • The Morgan Sindall Comms team visited the Woolwich Leisure Centre Knowledge Quad to promote the space to Greenwich service providers, key stakeholders, partners and the wider community as well as to promote the upcoming 14-week accredited construction programme for Greenwich residents aged 16 to 18, that starts on 18th March.
  • The Woolwich Leisure Centre team met with CiTB in February to touch base on services available to contractors and discuss ways to collaborate in Greenwich. We discussed the Morgan Sindall Knowledge Quad in Woolwich which can be used by CiTB. Morgan Sindall and CiTB will arrange to meet again when more subcontractors start working on the Woolwich Leisure Centre site.
  • Royal Borough of Greenwich visited the Woolwich Leisure Centre Knowledge Quad in February, to view the Quad space and discuss the upcoming 14-week programme for NEETs. Greenwich Looked After Children and Young People’s team will make referrals of young NEETS to take part in the programme starting March.
  • LSEC approached Morgan Sindall about taking part in an employer insight film, involving staff. On 20th February, LSEC filmed an apprentice, two graduates, one year out student, the Social Value Manager and the Project Manager from the Woolwich Leisure Centre site team.
  • The Woolwich Leisure Centre team organised a meeting with Heronsgate and Foxfield Primary Schools and Faulkner Browns Architects in February to discuss the structure of the arts workshop that we are delivering in March in both schools to year groups 3 and 4.
  • This month we met with Build Skill Plus to discuss numbers of young NEETS registered for the upcoming 14-week programme; more referrals are needed and both Morgan Sindall and Build Skill are confident spaces will be taken up as this is a popular programme for young people.
  • The Woolwich Leisure Centre team met with the University of Greenwich this month to discuss a site visit for their MSc students studying Construction Management. The site visit will take place on 13th March in the afternoon.
  • Our Social Value team met with Greenwich’s Looked After Children and Young People’s team, to deliver a careers in construction talk to one student, looking to join the construction industry and needing some advice and guidance in ways to join the industry.
