Here's the latest update
Site activities:
We have now undertaken two ground floor slab pours (the main hall area and half of the teaching block) . This forms the first main layer of the hardstanding inside the building. The concrete is poured from wagons into a concrete pump that distributes it via a large hose. Operatives will position the hose accordingly and level out the surface with handheld tools. The process that follows includes a machine called a power float, which contains rotating circular blades that create a smooth finish to the surface.
To mark the celebration of our steel frame being completed, we hosted a steel signing ceremony for clients, consultants and members from the current school including the head boy and girl. After some passionate words from local councillor Connie Nolan and CEO of Veritas trust Kerry Jordan-Daus, we invited our visitors to sign two steel columns as a keepsake for the future.
Other News
Our very own Santa paid a visit to the existing school before the Christmas break to give out gifts to the pupils.
Happy New Year from all of us at Morgan Sindall Construction!
Upcoming work
The next phase of works will be on the roof; our contractor will begin on the main hall roof by laying a VCL layer onto the metal deck. This will be followed by the insulation and other layers.
We will be pouring the remainder of the concrete slab as well which will allow for complete hardstanding within the new structure.
