Project update - December 2024

The erection of steel frame is now complete! The precast planks have also been laid on roof and first floor level, providing the first layer of flooring structure. These have been insulated and filled with concrete to provide additional stability.

Edge trims and builders work holes (where mechanical and electrical components sit) have been prepared, ready for structural topping to commence. This topping will be 70mm of concrete, providing the second layer to flooring build up.

Our groundworkers have been preparing the ground floor by installing insulation and weatherproofing. This is the step taken before building up rebar cages, ready for the main concrete slab to be poured.

Alongside this, the team have been installing the drainage and ducting to service the new building. This will connect up with the runs that were installed during the half term break.

Upcoming Work

We will be carrying out the structural topping to first floor and roof level using a concrete pump (as shown on the right).

Following this, a new contractor will be starting on site to begin works on the roof parapet and making the building weather tight.
