Project team make charitable donation to Mikeysline

The project team donated £250 to Inverness-based charity Mikeysline.

Mikeysline was formed out of tragedy to offer hope and support to others. They are passionate about:

  • Offering accessible support for those who need it most
  • Raising awareness about mental ill-health
  • Helping break down the stigma and barriers
  • Preventing the loss of life to suicide

Mikeysline currently provides three key services:

Text-based Support: Trusted volunteers message those in need or at risk throughout the Highlands and Moray across multiple platforms including Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Webchat and SMS.

The Hives: Mikeysline volunteers provide one-to-one crisis support in person at The Hives across Inverness, Alness, Nairn and Tain.

Young Persons Service: This division directed at young people aged under 25 provides support face-to-face online and in secondary and primary schools.

The £250 donation made could train a new volunteer to offer Mikeysline’s life saving service.
