Here's the latest update FOR MKUH RADIOTHERAPY CENTRE
Site activites:
- During April the concrete gang completed pouring the first floor slab of Block 1 and 2 and have released the building to our external wall contractor to commence the SFS metalwork.
- The Bunker walls were also completed at the beginning of April and the staged concrete pours for the roof slab have commenced. This will be a series of pours over 6 weeks.
- Finally, the roof on block 1 has commenced following the completion of connecting all the rain water pipes
Community Engagement
During April, the Morgan Sindall team had their first Considerate Constructors Scheme Inspection. The visit went extremely well with the CCS monitor scoring the site very highly and the team achieving a score of 43/45.
The score is based on 3 categories; respect the community, care for the environment and valuing the workforce. The team achieved a perfect 15/15 marks for their works and efforts in the community.
Work Experience
This month, our work experience student James has spent a lot of time looking at design coordination with the site management team. He has had a particular focus builders work openings where services will pass through walls and fire compartments. He has created a schedule of all the openings on the job and what type of service and sizes so he can determine the dimensions of the builders work opening. This information has assisted the team to cost the fire stopping element.
What’s Coming Up
Our focus in May will be completing the concrete works to allow the curing period to commence. We are also hopeful to continue progressing the roof works and external walls.
