The project team have provided £2000 to support the New Beginnings Project in Maybole.
Led by the Maybole Regeneration Project team, New Beginnings will see the production of a documentary which will celebrate the legacy of the four schools of Maybole’s past, and the development of the new Maybole Community Campus.
The four existing schools – Gardenrose Primary School, Cairn Primary School, St Cuthbert’s Primary School, and Carrick Academy – will be a focal point of the documentary, with the closure of these schools captured along with pupil and teacher interviews.
The documentary will also feature footage of the construction of the new Maybole Community Campus.
The young people are also working with a song writer and have written their own “New Beginnings” song, to be performed at the showcase events.
When complete, the documentary will be aired at a showcase event, which will be interspersed with live performances from pupils current and past.
The project uses a multi partner approach, with a multigenerational section of the community, to ensure a more robust outcome for all participants. Partners include:
- Maybole Regeneration Project
