Morgan Sindall is celebrating picking up two awards at this year’s Southern Construction Framework (SCF) Awards – where the business won Contractor of the Year and Sean Bradley was acknowledged as Framework Director of the Year.
Over the last six years, the business has secured over £980 million of SCF projects, generating significant community and social economic benefit.
Judges were particularly impressed with Morgan Sindall’s outstanding performance in project delivery. Specific performance indicators are used on every project and Morgan Sindall’s track record in going above and beyond to exceed these targets was noted, securing best client approved performance on preconstruction cost and time predictability.
Contractor of the Year Award
The award demonstrates Morgan Sindall’s commitment to the framework and strong working relationship with SCF. The business has worked collaboratively with the SCF through all four generations of the framework and across all three regional lots; being successfully re-appointed to the latest iteration in 2019, covering the South West, South East and London. SCF has delivered over £7.5bn of public sector construction.
Framework manager for Morgan Sindall, Alan Smedley, said: “We are very pleased to accept this prestigious award from the Southern Construction Framework – a testament to our continued commitment to the framework, and the aligned ethos and values we share. SCF is a progressive, forward-thinking framework that delivers demonstrable benefit for its customers and communities, and we are proud to be recognised as a leading partner.”
Framework Director of the Year Award
Sean Bradley, as managing director for Morgan Sindall in London and the Homes Counties, also leads on work through the SCF framework; bringing everyone together to successfully deliver high-performing projects on time and within budget to delighted clients, while leaving a positive legacy in the local communities within which we work.
Sean fully embraces the SCF values, demonstrating commitment to the relationship with the SCF team. In particular, the judges commented on Sean’s leadership and how he “takes time to consider all sides of a discussion and acts appropriately”.
Of the award, Sean said: “The most rewarding part of being the framework director is having the opportunity to make a real difference in how the industry embraces change. The collaborative nature of the SCF promotes thought leadership, tackling the key challenges facing the industry. We are proud to be part of a framework that is leading the way for the industry to deliver better, more responsibly, providing positive legacy for future generations.”
Kingsley Clarke, Operations Lead at SCF added: "The last year has been extremely challenging for everyone and so this year's SCF Awards are an even stronger testament to Morgan Sindall and Sean's outstanding work. Collaboration and strong working relationships have never been so important to overcome the hurdles of the last 12 months and this SCF ethos has been fundamental to the projects we have delivered with Morgan Sindall in making them such a huge success."
The SCF annual awards recognise outstanding performance from companies, individuals and projects.
