Morgan Sindall Construction supports Northern Home Counties communities during Neighbourhood Week

Morgan Sindall Construction’s Northern Home Counties team has collaborated with their supply chain to support community organisations across the region during the company’s Neighbourhood Week.

The annual community initiative sees teams across the region support their communities by lending a helping hand and donating their time and skills to projects which will enrich and improve their local areas.

82 volunteers from project teams and their supply chains across the region have dedicated 1,190 hours so far to community tasks, including projects from a special education needs garden makeover at Gilbert Inglefield School in Leighton Buzzard, to redecorating the Highcrest Adult Learning Centre at Amersham School.

In Welwyn Garden City, Morgan Sindall Construction’s office team, alongside subcontractors Images Decorating Services and Panoramic Landscape Contractors, helped freshen up Aberford Community Centre. The company also helped give the centre’s garden a makeover, providing those who use it with a nice area to meet in whilst maintaining social distancing.

Aberford Community Centre, managed by local organisation Communities 1st, sits at the heart of the local community and acts as a volunteer and community hub in Borehamwood, providing residents with social clubs, children’s activities and fitness classes.
In Bedfordshire, the team from Morgan Sindall Construction’s Goldington Academy project gave their time redecorating, landscaping and fixing elements of Sandy fire station. The company also added new furniture to the community room and toilet area, and made improvements to the communal garden area. Volunteers from the team working on Hujjat Primary School redecorated the internal communal areas at the Peace Hospice in Watford, granting a much-needed refresh for its residents and visitors.
