Morgan Sindall Construction appointed to North Wales Construction Partnership Framework
Morgan Sindall Construction has been appointed to the third edition of a £600 million construction framework in North Wales.
The North Wales Construction Partnership Framework 3 (NWCP3) is the third edition of the successful NWCP2, created jointly by six North Wales Local Authorities. The NWCP3 aim is to deliver value for money and the benefits associated with a long-term collaborative relationship. It’s built on an ethos of openness, transparency and flexibility achieved by continuous communication and engagement with stakeholders.
The total anticipated value of the NWCP3 is up to £600 million and will include new school buildings and other public sector projects, and social housing developed by all six North Wales authorities.
NWCP3 is committed to socially responsible procurement, and it is expected that buyers and contractors on the Framework will deliver social, economic, environmental and cultural benefits whilst delivering maximum value for money for the Welsh pound.
NWCP3 will foster collaborative working and allows clients, contractors, design teams and the supply chain to work together, placing community benefits at its core by supporting and developing sustainable local supply chains, apprenticeships and training as well as improving the well-being of communities across North Wales.
The NWCP3 will work with other agencies such as Employment services across North Wales, CITB (Construction Industry Training Board), Careers Wales and local Educational Facilities to deliver Targeted Recruitment and Training, in each individual project.
NWCP3 will also have a significant impact on Supply Chain development and management of the environmental impact as a partner of Supply Chain Sustainability School.
As a member of the National Association of Construction Frameworks (NACF), NWCP3 can expand its collaboration across Wales and into England by exchanging best practices with similar national public sector frameworks.
The previous NWCP2 was accessed by projects with a value in excess of £200 million, with 76 percent of the supply chain spend based in Wales.
The aim of the NWCP3 is ambitious: to secure improvements to the built environment through delivery of best value, energy efficient, sustainable facilities; utilising the highest possible safety and environment standards, innovation and collaboration, whilst creating a lasting legacy through targeted investment in employment and communities.
This framework aims to create a positive impact that extends far beyond the completion of individual projects.
